Characters and conversations

Set the language for the exchange you are having

Tell the character your preferred reply language. A menu language, an existing message and a supported audio voice do not change as one universal setting.

Updated

Include the preference with a specific question

Please reply in German with short everyday sentences. Keep Nora's name unchanged. Ask where I want to travel, and wait for my answer before suggesting a route.

If the chat has used another language, repeat the preference with the next turn. It can take a few exchanges for a changed instruction to be followed consistently. Remove conflicting language requests from the same context.

Use one name for each person or object

Keep proper nouns consistent when changing language. Choose one translation for an important place and briefly recap the current scene. Renaming the same location several ways can make a story harder to follow.

For practice, ask for a brief correction after the reply. Separating that request from a translation lesson and a new plot direction makes the turn clearer. Check important translations independently.

Inspect interface and audio support separately

Use the current Language control for offered interface options. It does not establish that every previous message, voice or media tool is available in that language.

Test a conversation instruction before deleting or resetting a chat you want to retain. Our prompt formats can help with style, and voice checks cover audio controls.

Questions and answers

How can I ask an OurDream character to use another language?

State the language and desired reply style in the conversation. Repeat it with a specific next question if a changed preference takes time to settle.

Does changing the menu translate all my conversations?

Interface language and generated replies are separate. Request the reply language in chat instead of assuming every old message and feature will be translated.

Why does a character return to English?

Check for conflicting instructions, restate the desired language with the next question and keep scene names stable. A brief recap can help after a switch.
